Yesterday is here: CHEurope virtual exhibition is online
Posted on: August 30, 2021At the heart of the CHEurope project are the research projects of our 15 Early Stage Researchers. Coming from Europe and other parts of the world, each of them has developed a cutting-edge and original PhD project within the 5 CHEurope’s work packages. From migrations to climate change, from the heritagization of the urban to digitality as a vector of communication and transmission of cultural heritage, and from the use of heritage as a therapeutic resource for improving psychological resilience and well-being to the interconnections between heritage, citizenship, policy, participation, politics and economy, these projects explore a new integrated approach to cultural heritage which takes much of its inspiration from critical heritage studies, an emerging interdisciplinary field concerned with analysing the ways in which the past is used and influences the present.
This virtual exhibition, intitled “Yesterday is here. Exploring heritage futures across Europe and beyond”, presents the research concerns and findings of the fellow researchers while critically engaging with different viewpoints on participatory ways of working with heritage. Featuring written short essays, images, short films, embedded maps and other contents designed specifically for this purpose, “Yesterday is here” encourages the visitors to wonder through the topics, fluidly accessing to one “room” from another using interactive mechanisms.
